Social Art Project 2023

Social Art Project 2023 was an international exchange in co-creative muralism and development of social methods. The project was based in Rosengård, Sweden and La Calera, Chile.

The project was a co-creative culture project that used experimental methods to explore art, culture and history. We aimed to create a new genre of co-creative public art, with a focus on mural painting. Through the process of co-development and co-creation, we encouraged the exchange of experience and knowledge. We aimed to discover new perspectives by using all art forms and senses.

The project focused on local ownership and builds on the local strengths and knowledge of the place where people live and move. We believe that community can create a safe environment where everyone can contribute their talents, be heard and be seen. We believe in using public spaces as platforms for meetings and conversations, where we can create a democratic process for everyone to participate and elevate cultural heritage.
